This foil baked salmon with sweet mustard glaze is the perfect dinner if you are looking for quick and easy. It will keep you full too!
When it comes to fish, you want to try to get wild caught. I stay away from the farm raised. You can tell the difference between the fame raised salmon, and wild caught salmon. Next time you go to the grocery store, or fish market, take a close look at the white fat lines in salmon. The farm raised salmon will have thicker white fat lines compared to the wild caught. As you can see in my photo, the white lines are very thin. That’s what you want.
But why do that when you most likely have all the ingredients you need to make your own delicious sweet mustard glaze? It only takes a couple of minutes to prepare…and it tastes way better than the store bought stuff.
All you will need is mayonnaise, yellow mustard, dijon mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and of course the salmon.
Combine all the ingredients (except for salmon) in a small bowl. Make sure to whisk until everything is combined, and its a nice smooth sauce.
Prepare your salmon. Place salmon on a big sheet of foil, big enough to fold up the foil to cover salmon completely when its time to put in the oven.
Sometimes salmon can still have the bones in, or a few here and there. Just make sure to feel around with your finger for any bones. If there are any you can take some kitchen tweezers or use your fingers to pull them out.
Spread your mustard glaze evenly all over the top of your salmon.
Now, take the sides of the foil and crunch together on the top and on side so the salmon is completely covered with foil. Pretty much a foil roof and walls.
Time to put it in the oven, preheated at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. When the salmon flakes easily with a fork, its done.
It’s optional, but you can sprinkle some fresh parsley and garnish with a parsley leaf for looks, and taste!
Enjoy!
