These fruity crispy marshmallow treats are Rice Krispies treats fruity and colorful cousin!
Im sure you’ve heard of Rice Krispies treats before. They are delicious squares of rice Krispy cereal and marshmallows! You can buy them already made at the store, or you can make them homemade.
Ive said this before in one of my recipe posts, and ill say it again…you are never too old for fun and colorful food! Of course, most kiddos would enjoy this treat, as well as adults!
My husband and I enjoyed these marshmallow treats a little too much. They were gone in about two days. Oops!
The smells and tastes of this fruity cereal was making me feel super nostalgic!
Cereal was a major food group of mine when I was younger. I would have it mostly everyday for breakfast. My absolute favorite cereal was lucky charms, followed by fruity pebbles!
Who didn’t like to start their day off with a nice bowl of sugar at that age?!
Just like rice Krispy treats, this recipe is so easy to make. It would be a fun recipe to make with your kids!
First, you want to melt your butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Next, you want to add in all of your marshmallows. You can use big marshmallows, or small marshmallows. As long as its a 10 oz. bag.
You want to constantly stir your marshmallows with your butter until they are completely melted. This took about 3-5 minutes. You want to make sure to stir constantly so the marshmallows doesn’t stick too much to the bottom of your pan.
Once your marshmallows are completely melted, you want to add all of your cereal.
Mix your cereal well into the marshmallows and keep stirring until everything is well coated and mixed together.
Things may start to get a little sticky and tough to work with…
Transfer your mixture to a greased 9×9 pan, and let it cool completely to set.
Cut treats into squares, whatever size you want.
If there are any left over, a great tip is to separate them with wax paper so they don’t stick together. Or, if you are serving them at a party or gathering, you may want to serve them with wax paper in between.
If you end up making this recipe, I hope you enjoy!
