Ok, first of all, can we just appreciate the colors that are in these Korean beef rice bowls?! That saying “people eat with their eyes” could not be anymore accurate. Just looking at this photo makes me want to take a fork, and drive right in!
We can thank the pickled red cabbage for the beautiful colors! And taste!
If you’ve never cooked with pickled cabbage, you must! It’s so easy to put together. All you need to do is throw all of the ingredients in a small bowl, and let the cabbage sit and soak for a bit! The longer you let it soak, the tastier it gets!
I don’t want to give all the credit to the pickled cabbage when it comes to taste. Each ingredient in this recipe was a team in creating the best flavors!
The sweet soy sauce glaze is amazing. Its sweet, salty, a tad spicy and just delicious! Mix it with the ground beef, and you have a magical creation!
Oh gosh, and I cant forget about the sriracha aioli, or in other words, sriracha mayonnaise! It’s flavorful, and easy to make! It adds the perfect flavoring on top!
I think I’ve mentioned the word “flavor” a lot throughout this short post. But, ahh…its just SO GOOD! I don’t know how else to explain it. Looks like you’ll just have to make it and see for yourself!
The best part of this recipe is that its pretty darn healthy for you! If you use a lean beef, turkey or chicken, a low fat mayonnaise, and a wild rice, brown rice or quinoa for the bottom, you’ve got yourself a guilt free meal!
