These turkey meatballs are so easy to make, using only a handful of ingredients and spices. I added some sweetness to the recipe, which was a great pairing with the saltiness of them. Who doesn’t like the combination of sweet and salty?!
For this recipe, you will need some ground turkey, and make sure that it is at least 85% lean and no higher. You want to make sure there is some fat to them so they aren’t too dry. Unless you are on a strict diet, you can use a leaner meat…the meatballs just won’t be as moist. Unless you use a substitute to make them moist!
The other ingredients you will need are grated parmesan cheese, an egg, worcestershire sauce, plain panic bread crumbs, maple syrup onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Add every single ingredient to a large bowl, and mix them around until very well combined. You can use your hands if you want, but I prefer to use a spoon when it comes to raw meat. It saves from washing your hands 10,000 times.
Once your ingredients are well combined, you want to roll the turkey mixture into balls, making sure to make each ball around the same size so they cook evenly.
My ground turkey was a little over 1 lb. which made 12 meatballs. I set my meatballs in the fridge for a few hours before cooking them. I’ve heard before that chilling meatballs or meatloaf before baking helps make them more moist and tastier. If this option isn’t available to you, I’m sure they will taste just as good if they are cooked right away without chilling.
YUM! Here they are! You can serve these on top of your favorite pasta like I did, or make a meatball sub. Or you could even eat these as is if you are on a low carb diet. That’s how good they are! So tasty and flavorful!
Enjoy!
