Fall is here, and these apple cinnamon scones with brown butter maple glaze SCREAM fall!
They are loaded with chunks of sweet, tart apples and a hint of cinnamon. Drizzled with the perfect glaze ever! Its a brown butter maple glaze. It has the best nutty flavor from the brown butter, and sweet maple flavor, from the maple syrup!
Listen, you’ve gotta make these at some point this season!
Look at that side shot! The cold cubes of butter help create that beautiful “layered scone look”! Kinda like a flaky biscuit, or croissant. Yum!
That cold butter is what helps give any pastry or baked good those beautiful flaky layers?? Theres a little fun fact for ya! 🙂
I don’t know about you, and I’ve said this before in one of my other posts; When I add any type of solid fruit to baked goods, I’m not a fan of an overload of the fruit. I like some. Guess thats why I’m not a huge fan of pie. I don’t like warm, baked fruit as it is, and thats all pie is really. Warm, mushy fruit with crust.
But ok, my point wasn’t to turn you off from this recipe! My point was that there is the perfect amount of apples in these scones! Not too many, not too little.
Oh, and that glaze. Gives the best nutty flavor if you will, from the browned butter. If you’ve never tasted browned butter, you’re missing out! Mix it with some maple syrup and wow! Just wow…
If you make this recipe, I hope you enjoy it!
