Best Ever Turkey Burgers

These best ever turkey burgers are anything but average. They are super juicy, topped with caramelized onions and a garlic aioli! They will be a new family favorite!

These best ever turkey burgers are the best burgers I have ever made. Hence the title “best ever”. They are super easy to make, and somewhat guilt free. Using a lean ground turkey rather than full fat beef.

Raise your hand if you love onions. Caramelized onions? I do!

Caramelized onions on burgers is one of my favorite combos. They offer a great taste and texture!

This turkey burger also has shredded onion and onion juice in it! Thats right…onion juice. Bet ya never thought of doing that! And if you did, your genius. Because that was a first for me! And boy did it make all the difference in taste.

Theres also some mayonnaise in the burger mixture, which gives it that nice juiciness!

I also must warn, this burger, just like most burgers is a messy one! The aioli drips over the sides and it will get all over your hands. But, lets be serious. The mess is 100% worth it!

Best Ever Turkey Burgers

These best ever turkey burgers are anything but average. They are super juicy, topped with caramelized onions and a garlic aioli! They will be a new family favorite!

Ingredients
  

For Garlic Aioli

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • pinch ground pepper
  • 1/2 tbsp honey dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

For Caramelized Onions

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • pinch of salt + black pepper

For Turkey Burgers

  • 1.5 lbs. Ground Turkey, lean I used 93% lean
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 heaping tbsp grated sweet onion with juice I grated my onion with a cheese grater by hand, and caught everything (onion and juice) in a bowl.
  • burger buns of choice

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix together all ingredients for aioli. Set aside.
  • In a large sauté pan, heat 1 tbsp of butter and 1/2 tbsp of olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions, salt and pepper. Cover and cook until onions become dark brown and caramelized. About 10-15 minutes. Stirring occasionally. Set aside.

  • In a large bowl, mix together ingredients for turkey burgers. Form mixture into 4 patties.

  • In another large, non-stick sauté pan, or skillet, drizzle some olive oil and heat over medium-high heat. Add all 4 patties to skillet. Cover and cook for about 7-10 minutes on each side. Or until the internal temperature of burger reaches 165°.

  • Serve burgers by adding turkey burger to bun, then some garlic aioli on top of burger, followed by some caramelized onions on top of aioli, and top with bun. Enjoy!
