When you’re trying to eat healthy, it can be a bit of a challenge! If you have a major sweet tooth like I do, you’re bound to crave a delicious sweet treat here and there. These flourless black bean brownies are the PERFECT, guilt free, sweet treat!
As you can see, this recipe uses only simple ingredients, no flour, and the only refined sugar used is the sugar in the chocolate chips.
100% pure maple syrup is one of my go to sweeteners to replace white/refined sugar in some of my recipes!
As you may know, refined sugars are not good for you. Any other sugar found from natural sources is the way to go. It’s good to try and replace refined sugar with a more natural sugar with certain things, for example…coffee. Sometimes I put a dash of maple syrup in my coffee for a little bit of sweetness rather than white sugar.
It’s the little lifestyle changes that make a big difference in the long run!
Pardon my French, but damn!… was I caught off guard when I tasted these brownies. I’ve made a few “healthy” brownies before, and they were disgusting. They were super bland, too dry, too soft, or just tasted too “healthy”.
I also have to mention how easy they are to make! You literally just dump all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender and puree everything together…
Pour your batter into an 8 x 8 greased baking pan and bake.
Easy, right? And whether you have a food blender, food processor or a blender you make smoothies from, either will work! I used my tiny little, 3.5 – cup kitchen aid food blender which worked perfectly!
These looked like the real deal. They looked like any other brownie you would make. You know, the unhealthy ones.
Of course, I had to add extra chocolate chips on top for that extra sweetness. Thats totally optional. Obviously, the more chocolate chips you add, the more “unhealthy” they get.
Also, these brownies taste even better when they have been chilling in the fridge for a while! The texture turns even more dense and fudgy!
