- First you want to caramelize the onions. In large sauté pan over medium-high heat, add olive oil, chopped onions and 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar. Stir around occasionally and cook for about 15 minutes, or until onions start to turn brown.
- In slow cooker, add chicken broth, chicken breast or tenders, thyme, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, steak sauce, worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, sour cream and caramelized onions.
- Cover slow cooker and cook on HIGH heat for 2-3 hours or LOW heat for 4-6 hours.
- When done, take chicken out and shred with fork. Put chicken back in slow cooker and mix around. turn heat to warm and keep uncovered to help thicken everything up.
- Cook your grain of choice, and serve chicken on top!
