Saint Patricks Day is this weekend, and what better way to celebrate it than with some delicious Irish Cheddar Beer Bread!
Every year around this time, I take full advantage of Saint Pattys Day to make this delicious beer bread. This has been my go to recipe for a few years now. It always comes out perfect. I should call it “No-Fail Beer Bread”.
What I like about this recipe is that it’s simple. Just like any bread recipe really.
You need flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and a few add ins to make this Irish proud!
For my beer, I used an IPA. You may use whatever beer you prefer. I like to use a more bold flavored beer so the flavors come out.
It is so so creamy, and sharp. The taste is so fresh. You wouldn’t think it was packaged cheese you’d find at the grocery store.
Oh yes, and we can’t forget about the butter…
It gets poured on top of the bread batter after you pour it into the loaf pan. The butter is what makes the crust of the bread nice and flaky ad buttery!
Now, I know…this looks absolutely disgusting…but trust me…while the bread bakes, the butter slowly seeps into the batter and it soaks up the butter. The butter doesn’t sit on top the entire baking time. You can always cut back on the amount of butter if you think this is too much. But let’s get real…is there honestly such thing as too much butter?…
See!..I told you. All of that butter has disappeard.
I must say, my loaf of bread came right out of the pan when I flipped it over. Not sure if that’s due to me spraying my pan with non stick spray, or the amount of butter that was poured on top.
This bread goes perfect with some corned beef and cabbage!
Enjoy!
