I absolutely love carbs. Who doesn’t?! But its good to give your body a break once in a while. And this recipe for spaghetti squash with meat sauce is the perfect meal to make when you’re craving that carb loaded pasta, but don’t want that awful regret after.
If you’re new to the whole spaghetti squash game, and have never made it before, don’t let it intimidate you! It’s so easy to make. The hardest part is cutting the darn things in half, but fear not. Ive learnt that the best way to cut them is to slice each end off, then place it vertically on the flat end you just sliced, and carefully slice through the middle.
Just like a pumpkin, spaghetti squash has seeds and “guts” is what I called them. You want to scoop all that out with a spoon.
Season with some salt, pepper and onion powder. Drizzle with some olive oil, then flip them over, cut side down and bake!
But, ok…enough about the squash. Let’s talk sauce!…
There are tons and tons of sauce recipes out there. The only thing about sauce that I care about is the taste. As long as it tastes good, its a winner in my book.
This sauce is so flavorful, and the best part is that its so simple and easy to make!
Two words…herbs and spices. Ok, that was three words counting “and”. But the most important ingredients in this sauce are the herbs and spices. Thats what makes any dish as flavorful as it is or can be!
It looks a lot like spaghetti, don’t ya think?! Its great! I cook spaghetti squash at least once a week. I’ll never give up my carb loaded pasta though. Unless I had to for medical reasons. But in all honesty, spaghetti squash is a healthy option thats actually really good!
