Servings: 4 Sloppy Joes
Course: Dinner

Ingredients

  • lbs. ground beef
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsps sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup hoisin
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsps low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp sriracha
  • 2 green onions, sliced thin
  • 4 brioche rolls, or rolls of choice

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook beef, breaking it up a little, but not too much. You want the chunks to be big to help give the sandwhich stability.
  2. Cook until well browned, about 5-6 minutes. Then add garlic, sesame oil, ketchup, hoisin, water, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, and sriracha. Stir everything together with the beef.
  3. Cook on medium heat for about 5-6 minutes, until mixture thickens and becomes "sloppy".
  4. Toast the buns (optional) and spoon the beef mixture on to buns, then top with green onions.
  5. Enjoy!
