For The Lemon Zest Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- lemon zest for garnish
Preheat oven to 325°.
Spray an 8x8 baking pan with non stick spray or line with parchment paper. Set aside.
In bowl of a stand mixer, or hand held mixer, mix together the melted butter and granulated sugar.
Add in eggs and buttermilk. Mix and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Add to wet ingredients and mix until flour is incorporated.
Stir in lemon juice, extract and lemon zest.
Pour batter in baking pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
Let cool completely.
Make glaze by mixing confectioners sugar and lemon juice together.
When brownies are completely cooled, pour glaze over and spread evenly. Sprinkle with lemon zest.
Let the glaze harden before cutting into squares.
I kept mine in an air tight container in fridge for a nice cool treat. But you can keep them out of fridge. If its hot out, I suggest you keep them in fridge so they don't get too sticky and messy.
Enjoy!
