Patriotic Sugar Cookie Bars

Servings: 25 Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Large Egg, room temperature
  • 1/2 TSP Almond Extract
  • 1 1/2 TSP Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 TSP Salt
  • 1 Cup Butter, softened
  • 12 OZ. Vanilla Marshmallow Frosting I used Pillsbury vanilla marshmallow fluffy frosting
  • 1 1/2 Cups Red, White, and Blue M&M's You can use red, white and blue sprinkles if you cant find M&M's
  • 1 TSP Baking Powder

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare a 9x13 baking dish by lining it with parchment paper, or cooking spray.
  3. Cream together butter and sugar. Add your egg, vanilla and almond extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add flour, salt and baking powder until well incorperated.
  5. Spread your dough out into prepared baking dish. Press down with hands or side of a drinking glass to roll out and make somewhat level.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges start to brown a little.
  7. Let cool completely before frosting and adding sprinkles.
  8. Once completely cooled, add frosting until entire top is covered. Add your M&M's. Cut into personal sized bars.
  9. Keep chilled until it's time to serve them.
  10. Enjoy!
