Total Time 45 minutes mins
- 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 stick of salted butter
- 2/3 cups dark chocolate chips, or semi sweet
- 16 oz. jar of caramel sauce
- sea salt
Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease bottom and insides of an 8x8 inch baking pan and set aside.
In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, cocoa, salt, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Whisk to combined and break up any clumps.
In a seperate bowl, beat together eggs and vanilla. Set aside.
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt together butter and chocolate chips. Constantly stirring until completely melted.
Mix melted chocolate into dry ingredients until well combined. Add egg mixture. Mix until well combined. Batter should be thick and fudgy.
Pour batter into greased baking pan, and bake for 25-27 minutes (batter will be thick, so youll have to use a spatula to spread batter out in pan). Brownies will be done when toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
When done, take another 8x8 pan or loaf pan and press down on top of brownies gently to flatten brownie a bit while still warm.
Let brownies cool completely.
Pour caramel sauce on top of brownies and spread around evenly. Sprinkle with some sea salt.
Enjoy!
Store any leftovers in fridge. I would keep the brownies in the pan you baked them in just because they get pretty messy with the caramel.
Take out of fridge an our before enjoying them to get them to room temperature!
