The Best Marinated Chicken

This recipe is for the best marinated chicken. The marinade is loaded with an abundance of seasonings and spices, with a touch of sweetness from honey. So many flavors are packed into each bite!

Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs. chicken breast, thin sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves of garlic, peeled and smashed
  • 2 tbsps honey
  • tsps ground cumin
  • tsps smoked paprika
  • ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¾ tsp ground ginger
  • ¾ tsp dried oregano
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • salt and pepper, to season
  • thinly sliced red onion
  • fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, smashed garlic cloves, honey, cumin, smoked paprika, cinnamon, ginger, oregano, turmeric, salt and pepper.
  2. Place chicken breast in a large ziplock bag, or large bowl and add the marinade. Make sure to mix chicken around to get each piece coated well.
  3. Let marinate at least 4 hours. The longer you let it marinate, the better! I let mine sit over night.
  4. When you're ready to grill chicken, preheat grill to medium heat. Cook chicken breasts for 3 minutes on each side. Or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°.
  5. Top with thinly sliced red onions and fresh chopped oregano.
  6. Serve with side dish of choice.
  7. Enjoy!
