Grilled steak salad with balsamic dressing is a great dinner thats fresh, filling and tasty!

Nothing screams summer more than some steak on the grill, and the smell…its amazing!

When it comes to salads, there are so many options for different creations. You want the perfect ingredients to create the perfect flavor combinations. I must say, this salad recipe is simple, and the flavor combinations are on point!

You have the nice crisp and crunch from the lettuce, the tangy and sweetness from the red onion and tomatoes, the creaminess from the blue cheese, and the best flavors come from the steak, obviously. But when you take a bite of everything together, its simply amazing!

Its totally optional, but I always like to marinate my steak before cooking it. It adds more flavor, and makes the steak more juicy, I think.

We all know that the steak is the star of this recipe, but I have to say that the homemade balsamic dressing is up there. It helps make this salad. It was so good that my husband was taking a spoon and drinking the left over drippings on the plate!

This recipe makes a serving size for about 2 people. But this would be an awesome meal to make for a dinner party, or if you plan on having company over. Just double or triple the ingredients!

Enjoy!!

  • 4 Cups Lettuce of choice
  • 1 Cup Cherry Tomatoes (halved)
  • 1/2 Medium red onion, sliced thin strips
  • 1/3 Cup Gorgonzola or Blue cheese, crumbled

For Balsamic Dressing

  • 1/2 Cup olive oil

  • 1 TSP Dijon Mustard
  • 1/2 TSP Salt

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients for balsamic dressing. Cover and set aside. (I made my balsamic dressing ahead of time to let the flavors marinate together.)
  • Put together your salad in large serving bowl or plate. Add lettuce, top with halved cherry tomatoes and sliced onion.
  • Cook steak on grill to desired doneness. When steak is done, take off grill and let sit on a plate for a few minutes.
  • Place steak on top of lettuce, followed by blue cheese crumbles.
  • Drizzle your balsamic dressing on top, evenly.
  • Enjoy!
