Whether you eat this slow cooked bbq pulled chicken by itself as is, on a bun, in a taco, or on a salad, the choice is yours and it’ll be amazing.
Slow cooked bbq pulled chicken is a great alternative to pulled pork. Im not a fan of pork, so I wanted to try this recipe to have options, and I’m glad I did. This recipe is one for the books! It was super duper easy to put together and make.
Throwing 2 lbs of chicken breast into a crockpot, and covering it with a bbq sauce mixture is all you have to do. Let the crockpot do the rest!
The BBQ sauce is mixed with some brown sugar, Italian dressing, and Worcestershire sauce. The Italian dressing threw me off, but let me tell you…it makes the flavors happen!
With a little help from two forks…eventually after a few hours…the top photo will turn into this…
Like I say in almost every crockpot recipe post…your home will smell amazing after the first hour of this cooking.
I served mine on a bulky roll, and added some ranch slaw on top, along with some red onion. Its totally optional how you eat this pulled chicken. But I highly recommend trying it with the ranch slaw on a bun!
I must warn you…this recipe may be absolutely delicious, but it is also very messy. Its not a first date type food. Thats for sure! But sometimes, some of the best foods are super messy. And I’m ok with that!! The mess was totally worth it. Just make sure you have plenty of napkins on hand.
The ranch slaw adds a nice flavor and consistency to the pulled chicken. A nice crunch and creamy ranch flavor!
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I did!!
